Experimentation with different digitisation technologies on a selection of complex heritage objects: lidar technologies, 3D technologies (terrestrial and aerial), technical imaging, multispectral imaging, reflectance transformation imaging and colorimetric measurements. The experiment involved works by Vasarely before they were restored, Niki de Saint Phalle’s Arbre aux serpents after restoration and César’s Expansion contrôlée.
The SUMUM project, funded by the Agence nationale de la recherche from 2018 to 2022, involved members of the Laboratoire d’électronique et d’informatique de l’image (LE2I), the Groupe de Recherche en Informatique, Image, et Instrumentation de Caen (GREYC), the Laboratoire Modélisation, Information & Systèmes (MIS) and the LABCOM linking the Laboratoire Modèles et simulations pour l’architecture et le patrimoine (UMR MAP 3495) and the Centre interdisciplinaire de conservation et restauration du patrimoine (CICRP).
