As a consequence of its administrative status (entity solely dedicated to research) , the MAP research unit has no privileged link with this or that university training courses. However, the unit is keen to get involved, either as a leader or as a support player, in a variety of training courses. The unit leads lifelong learning modules (CFE format, CNRS thematic schools, summer workshops), organises teaching blocks for university programmes, and hosts university students on a regular basis (from L3 level to PhD students). The unit has also explored the creation of online content (technical tutorials, edutainment systems). In addition, the unit often offers teaching courses that include a significant amount of practical work, resulting in the production of new data that may prove problematic to use or archive after the course.

Because of their heterogeneity, these various implications raise both practical and fundamental questions about visibility, sustainability, reusability or reformulation of educational content – and more generally about how to optimise the unit’s investment in pedagogical initiatives.

Objective

The aim of this workshop is, on the one hand, to work towards greater coherence (structuring, modularisation, consolidation and making available or opening up the educational content produced by the unit) and, on the other hand, to begin to meet two challenges: distance learning and processing the data produced during the teaching modules. Our preferred working method is that of practical experimentation, and therefore the construction of a series of teaching experiences (a good example is the ‘citadelle’ training site: https://www.map.cnrs.fr/chantierEcole/).

Work method

  • Situation assessment: typification of the unit’s initiatives (in technical and organisational terms, as well as in terms of availability of the teaching materials and results)
  • Experimenting the “training site” formula, in partnership with the Marseilles Citadel,
  • Experimentation with concrete ways of disseminating and promoting online educational content.
  • Longitudinal analysis of the educational frameworks in which the laboratory may be called upon to intervene
